Soft Close Toilet Seat – How To Adjust It

Soft-closing toilet seats can be lowered silently in a matter of seconds. They are almost maintenance-free but may need to be adjusted from time to time. The lowering action of most soft-close seats cannot be adjusted, but it is possible to make minor adjustments to the hinges to adjust the position of the seat or to prevent the seat from sliding around on top of your bowl. You may have to remove the lid and seat to adjust the style of the soft-close toilet seat Hinges.

Step 1 :

To find your toilet seat's style, look at its design. Take a look under the hinges at the back of your bowl. You can adjust the seat's position by removing the lid and wing nuts. To access the hinge screws, remove the lid and seat.

Step 2 :

Use an adjustable wrench to loosen all the nuts so you can move your seat around freely. Adjust the seat to align it with the bowl's front and sides. Next, tighten the nuts, but not too tight.

Step 3 :

Lift the lid and seat until they are in the most vertical position. You can use one of these two methods to remove the lid and seat from the hinges depending on the style of your toilet. Press the release button located at the bottom of the seat. Or, press both the release buttons at the hinges' inner ends. To lift the hinge pins off the lid and seat, hold them together.

Step 4 :

To see the hinge screws, remove the hinge caps. You can loosen the screws with a screwdriver to adjust the hinges to move the seat. You can temporarily reinstall the lid and the seat by pressing them down on the hinge pins. The lid and seat should be closed. Line them up with the sides and front of the bowl. Turn the screws tightening, remove the seat and hinge caps, and then reinstall the lid.
